Because we are here in your presence
this place is holy.

Because our prayers and meditations mix as one
our words and thoughts are holy.

Because in your love we are able to love
our relationships are holy.

Because all are your people, loved by you,
everyone is holy.

Holy One, Holy and Mighty, Holy Immortal:
your holiness lifts us to dwell in you.
In your dwelling we are moved to wisdom
and mindfulness.
In the thoughts of our hearts,
we envision love that is genuine
love that is pure
love that is authentic
love that is selfless
love that is spendthrift
love that is holy
love that is what makes us who we truly are.

(Psalm 103, selected verses)
Bless God, my soul!
All that is in me, bless God’s holy Name!
Bless God, my soul,
and remember all God’s kindnesses!
the One who forgives all your sins
is the One who heals all your brokenness;
the One who ransoms your life from death
is the One who crowns you with love and
How you love justice, God!
You are always on the side of the oppressed.
You are tender and compassionate, God—
slow to anger, and always loving;
your displeasure in our wrong doing
does not endure forever,
and your anger lasts only for a short time.
You never treat us as our sins deserve;
you don’t repay us in kind for the injustices we do.
For as high as heaven is above the earth,
so great is the love for those who revere you.
As far away as the east is from the west,
that’s how far you remove our sins from us!
As tenderly as parents treat their children,
that’s how tenderly you treat your worshipers, God.

(Romans 12:9-14)
Let love be genuine; hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good; Love
one another with mutual affection; outdo one another in showing honor.
Do not be without passion, be ardent in spirit, serve God. Rejoice in
hope, be patient in suffering, persevere in prayer. Contribute to the
needs of the saints; extend hospitality to strangers. Bless those who
persecute you; bless and do not curse them.

Thoughts On Loving Genuinely
In times like these, love is not sufficient if it is a mask that we wear
unto our own gain.
Love is not sufficient if it is a word that is not followed in action.
Love is not sufficient if it is the best of acts yet done only that we
may say "I did that."
Love is not sufficient if it bears any falsehood or skews the truth
even so slightly.
Love is not sufficient if it lacks passion and fire in the belly.
Love is not sufficient if it is given cheaply or received without appreciation.
Love is not sufficient if it is compromised by anything of apathy
or hate.
Love is not sufficient if it is withheld in contempt.
Love is not sufficient if the source of love is not first loved.
Love is not sufficient if it is without love's portion of self.
Love is not sufficient if it is without a target or purpose that is loving.

(1 Corinthians 13, selected verses)
Love is patient; love is kind. Love is not jealous, it does not boast, and it is not arrogant; it is never rude or self-seeking; it is not prone to anger, nor does it brood over injuries. Love doesn’t rejoice in what is wrong, but rejoices in the truth. There is no limit to love’s forbearance, to its trust, its hope, its power to endure. Love never fails. There are, in the end, three things that last: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.

God of might, giver of every good and perfect gift,
put into our hearts your love
which is enduringly constant and perseveringly patient,
so that by deepening our sense of awe and wonder
in your great glory.
Nurture in us what is good and,
by your watchful care,
keep safe what you have nurtured.
For we long to be a blessing to others
as you are a blessing to us.
Blessed are you and blessed is your Kin-Dom,

Another week, another list of senseless violence.
We say their names...the victims upon whom
such violence has come.
We say their names...the protestors who become
those who experience the very injustice that they
assemble against.
We say their names...all who have suffered at the hands of
racism, xenophobia, misogyny, greed, malevolent power,
manipulative control.

Come, O God, into the world of your creating,
the world that is so broken,
to each of us who have harmed and been harmed.
Come, be our peace and justice.
