O God, open my lips.And my mouth will declare your praise.
Make haste, O God, to deliver me;
make haste to help me, O God.

Almighty and everlasting God:

You are always more ready to hear than
we are to pray,
and to give more than we either desire or deserve.
Pour upon us the abundance of your mercy,
forgiving us those things of which our conscience is afraid,
and giving us those good things for
which we are not worthy to ask,
except through your mercy and compassion.

Praise God whose love fills time and space,
Praise Christ whose grace redeems our race.
Praise Holy Spirit, friend divine,
Let heav'n and earth all praise combine.
(Words: Bruce D. Prewer)

Merciful God, you made us in your image,
with a mind to know you, a heart to love you,
and a will to serve you. But our knowledge is
imperfect, our love inconstant, our obedience incomplete. Day by day
we fail to grow into your likeness: yet you are slow to be angry with
your children. You do not hold our wrong doings against us,
but in your tender love, forgive and bring reconciliation.
Holy God: Be with us in your mercy.
Almighty God: Be with us in your compassion.
Immortal God: Be with us in your peace.
The almighty and merciful God grant you
healing in all brokenness,
strength in all challenges,
perseverance in all your days.
Blessed is God, and Blessed is God's Kin-Dom,
now and forevermore.

Saving God, we remember before You
nations and communities with cause to despair:
countries at war;
countries divided and living in conflict.
We remember before You:
the oppressed and the persecuted;
the poor and the needy;
those discriminated against;
communities where law and order,
morality and respect, have broken down.
Saving God, we call on You. Speak to us.
Tell us what we should do. Give us hope.
Saving God, we remember before You
people with cause to despair:
those with chronic illness;
those who have been bereaved;
families divided and living in conflict;
children warped or destroyed by abuse.
We remember before You:
those with no meaning or purpose in their lives;
those who feel worthless or unloved;
those eaten up by guilt or regret;
those who have lost faith in the power of
Your love to save them.
Saving God, we call on You. Speak to us.
Tell us what we should do. Give us hope.

Loving God, we call on You.
Whenever we feel ourselves sinking beneath
the chaotic waters of despair,
reach out to us, take our hand and save us;
deliver us from all chaos and brokenness,
and may we live in the justice of your
peaceable Kin-Dom.
